East Ayrshire Tenants' And Residents' Federation Receives £59K

East Ayrshire Tenants and Residents Federation recently held an open meeting at the Fenwick Hotel which was attended by over 40 members from across East Ayrshire.

The purpose of the meeting was to update members of the progress made by the Federation since its inauguration in September 2007 and celebrate the agreed Business Plan and Service Level Agreement between East Ayrshire Council Housing Services and the Federation.

Councillor Kathy Morrice, Spokesperson for Community Wellbeing and Chris McAleavey, Head of Housing were there to present the Federation with a cheque for £59,000 to enable them to pursue the aims of their Business Plan and encourage and promote tenant and resident activity in East Ayrshire.

Councillor Morrice said: "I was delighted to attend the Federation meeting and catch up with old friends and meet some new ones. The work done by the Federation is very important and much appreciated by the Council and I am sure that the funding will help to further tenant participation in East Ayrshire."
