J&E Shepherd Chartered Surveyors has appointed 34-year-old Graham Johnstone as a building surveyor based at its Glasgow office.
A graduate from Napier University with an extensive track record encompassing periods at Faithful + Gould, Lloyds TSB and Henderson Surveying, Mr Johnstone's appointment is seen as key to the development of Shepherd’s building surveying offering in the west of Scotland.
Graham Johnstone said: "Having worked previously with commercial and financial sector clients, I have gained experience of a broad range of building surveying duties, including project management of capital projects, dilapidation negotiations and maintenance strategies of existing property stock, I'm delighted to join Shepherd's in Glasgow and look forward to introducing our building surveying offering to my many contacts throughout Scotland."
Steve Barnett, commercial surveying partner in Shepherd's Glasgow office, said: "Graham has already proven himself to be a tremendous asset to the firm through his ability to provide our expanding client base with expert knowledge and advice.
"The introduction of new legislation, such as EPCs, licensing plans and a broad range of other building surveying services, have meant that building surveyors are very active in the current marketplace. Certainly, building surveying is a sector within which we at Shepherd’s are seeking to expand significantly in response to our clients' changing requirements and Graham’s appointment is key to that service."
Mr Johnstone joins Shepherd's nationwide building surveying service with bases in Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dumfries and London.
