More than 60 affordable homes are to be built in Aberdeen as part of two new housing developments which have been given the go-ahead by the city council's planning committee.
The committee granted an application for a 174 flatted development on the site of a haulage yard at Park Road.
The blocks of flats - 148 of which will be two-bedroom properties and 26 of which will be one-bedroom properties - will vary from four to eight storeys in height, and 217 parking spaces will be provided on the site. Twenty six of the flats will be affordable housing.
A 77-homes property development off Jesmond Drive, more than 50% of which will be affordable housing, was also given the green light by the planning committee.
The properties will consist of: 36 two-bedroom flats spread over six three-storey blocks, 17 three-bedroom two-and-a-half storey town houses and 24 three-bedroom two-storey houses. All of the flats and four of the two-storey houses will be affordable homes.
One hundred and thirteen parking spaces, consisting of garages, driveways and on-street parking will be provided in the development.
Planning convener Scott Cassie said: "Aberdeen is crying out for affordable housing and these two developments will go a good way towards meeting the city's need.
"These developments will provide a good mix of family houses and flats and are to be warmly welcomed, particularly given the length of the waiting lists for homes in the city."
