Angus Council is about to embark on a survey to determine the future housing needs of the county's residents.

The council's housing division is undertaking an assessment of housing need and demand over the next two months, and as part of the research a survey will be undertaken of around 3000 households.

This will include owner occupiers, private and social housing tenants across Angus and will be carried out by independent research consultants Research Resource.


This research will help the council to identify the housing needs and demands of the people of Angus. It will provide vital information to assist the council in setting housing supply targets for the next 10 years by determining the kind of houses people want to live in, the type of tenure and where to develop and build homes into the future.

Convener of Neighbourhood Services Jim Millar said: "This will be the most comprehensive assessment of housing need ever undertaken in Angus and we encourage everyone contacted to take part, share their experiences and tell us just what kind of housing they need."

The survey team and the council will contact by letter a random selection of Angus residents and arrange interviews. Residents are reminded to ensure that valid identification is produced before allowing anyone into their home.
