20mm Natural Stone Facing System

Kirk Natural Stone now offer a unique, highly versatile natural stone facing system which can be used for any building project.

Available in sandstone or granite the system offers:
  • Low cost facing of new buildings
  • Seamless low cost facing of existing buildings
  • A high degree of sustainability
  • Low maintenance and long term durability
  • Timeless traditional or modern designs
  • Minimal short term cost / maximum long term appearance and cost benefits.
The System was recently on display at the Ecobuild show at Earls Court where it offered a refreshing long term sustainable alternative to short term building solutions such as render and timber cladding, which can leave a town or development looking washed out and dilapidated after only 20-30 years.

Often it is the case that these tired looking buildings although structurally sound are knocked down regardless, at great cost to authorities and the environment, as has been the case in the city of Dundee for example. Our thin stone facing systems, at relatively low cost, would provide a feasible solution to improve upon appearance and vastly improving the lifespan of these buildings.

In contrast, buildings built in stone have shown to retain their appearance over hundred's of years, and simply weather well into their surroundings. Clearly this problem should be addressed, and an attempt made to both improve the look and sustainability of Britain's street façades.

Kirk Natural Stone Developments have looked to address this problem with a new thin stone facing system available in Sandstone and Granite, in a variety of colours and finishes to suit all locations. This system is extremely beneficial in several ways, and these benefits can be utilised, either on the previously mentioned tired looking buildings and indeed new construction including:
  • Timberframe
  • Brick
  • ICF
  • Blockwork
  • Render
  • Precast
Savings are made on transport and labour due to the lightweight nature of the product, which once complete gives the impression that the building is indeed solid stone.
