Scotland's largest business support organisation is calling for businesses to remain optimistic in order to survive the recession.

GO Group is urging businesses to remain positive in the face of the credit crunch, despite warnings from Scottish Government's Chief Economic Adviser that Scotland's economic performance is "clearly weakening".

Liz Metin, deputy director of Learning and Development at GO Group, said: "At GO Group we believe that optimism in business is everyone’s responsibility and that a positive outlook can make a real difference to the success of a company. We aim to provide businesses with useful skills and practical tips that will steer them through the current economic climate."


The biggest challenge that businesses are currently facing is access to finance, and Scottish Enterprise has warned that many viable firms are facing serious cash-flow problems because of a lack of credit.

The GO Group have designed courses such as 'The Science of Securing Investment' to help businesses gain insight into what types of investment are right for their situation and what they need to do to succeed in raising finance.

The courses are facilitated by top Scottish entrepreneurs Elie Chilton and Alastair Balfour.
