Alloa Academy's Vision For The Future

'An inspiring new building for an inspiring school', that's the message from Alloa Academy Head Teacher Ralph Barker as the school prepares to move into its new premises.

As two schools - Alloa Academy and Fairfield School - will be joining together on the site, the move was seen as the perfect opportunity to incorporate pupils', parents' and teachers' views on the school's vision for the future.

Over 1,200 people from staff, pupil focus groups and the parent council have been consulted on the culture and community they want to encourage and develop.

The result is a new vision statement for the school: 'Our school will be a centre of excellence, promoting high achievement within a safe, caring and inclusive environment. Through reflection and enterprise, we will develop happy and responsible citizens. Our collegiate approach will ensure that learning and teaching provides challenge and fun for all.'

In line with this, the school motto will change from 'Circumspice' to 'Learning to inspire'. The badge will be changed to include the new motto.

Ralph Barker said: "The purpose of the new vision for the school is to ensure that the two schools which are joining have one vision and one purpose, with staff and pupils fully integrated.

"A new school, a new vision and a new badge means a new beginning and staff and pupils are excited to be moving into the future together."

School uniform will not change other than the new badge, which will be incorporated once existing stock of the old badge are used up.
