Ayrshire-based building contractors William Skinner & Son have announced the appointment of Richard Brown as Project Manager at their Southern Division in Meldreth, Cambridgeshire.
Richard, 37, started his training in 1988 and spent the next three years at Peterborough Regional College obtaining a BTEC First and National Diploma in Construction.
Moving onto to Southampton Institute of Higher Education in 1991, he obtained BTEC Higher National Diploma in Building and Degree in Construction.
He has spent the last 15 years working in many fields of construction, including telecommunication, modular, commercial, domestic new build and refurbishment.
William Skinner & Son personnel manager Stephanie Hammond commented: "Richard joins us from Chalcroft Construction where he had undertaken a contracts manager role since 2007. He has a BSc Hons in Construction and has worked in various construction management roles for thirteen years.
"The role of Project Manager is new to our Southern Division and is the final piece of our new management structure there to complement and lead the existing site management and contract delivery teams."
Building contractors William Skinner & Son's Ayrshire and Cambridgeshire bases cover Scotland, South East and Eastern England with a range of activities centred on building refurbishment, mainly of retail stores and shopping centres. Joinery manufacture, metal fabrication, special finishes, terrazzo tiling and single ply roofing are amongst the special skills offered.
