Industrial units at Peffermill Parc, Edinburgh are proving popular with city businesses.
Since completion in mid-November, nine out of 13 new industrial nest units built for Parc Craigmillar Limited have been let or are under offer.
Designed to accommodate both existing businesses and start-ups requiring modern industrial premises, the development totals 16,000 sq ft.
Bemco Ltd (one of the country's largest independent electrical wholesalers) has taken three units to establish its first branch in Edinburgh.
Saville Audio vision (the UK's largest specialist supplier of Audio visual, multimedia and videoconferencing technology) has taken two units to relocate from elsewhere in the City.
Interest has been strong in the remaining units, with a further four units 'under offer'. Individual units range in size from 1,076 sq ft to 2,583 sq ft.
The EDI Group has also purchased the former 10 B King's Haugh premises on Peffermill Industrial Estate for conversion from retail to industrial use in a deal worth £1m. EDI's agents, Ryden, already have two potential interests in the unit.
Elsewhere in the city, EDI's industrial units at 11 South Gyle Crescent are being upgraded and interest from a tool hire company has already been expressed. EDI are continually looking at upgrading their existing stock including the carbon footprints and actively looking for industrial opportunities.
Speaking on behalf of The EDI Group Limited, John Mark Di Ciacca, Acting Chief Executive, said: "Our recent successes are evidence that speculative development of high-quality industrial space in the right location is profitable. There continues to be a shortage of industrial space in Edinburgh and the Lothians.
"We intend building on our track record of high-quality development in this sector and will be actively pursuing other opportunities over the next few years, to help secure jobs in Edinburgh and the city region."
