J&E Shepherd, one of the largest independent firms of chartered surveyors in the UK, has promoted Andrew Neil to an Associate following his move earlier this year to head up its busy Greenock office to help serve Inverclyde's housing market.
25-year-old Paisley-born Mr Neil joined Shepherd aged 17 as a school leaver. While working and gaining valuable experience through the week, Andrew also completed his degree at Paisley University before going on to pass his professional exams in which he became a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
Prior to his move to Greenock, Andrew was part of a larger surveying team within the Glasgow office and spent the latter part of his time there working in the west side of the city. His promotion to Associate at Shepherd’s Greenock office marks the most significant stage in his career to date.
Mr Neil said: "I'm delighted to be made an Associate at Shepherd's. Achieving this kind of recognition is just what I was aiming for when I started my career, but to be promoted at this particular time, in such a challenging economic climate, is a real vote of confidence in my abilities and very welcome."
Ian Cameron, management partner in charge of Shepherd in the West of Scotland, said: "Andrew has been something of a rising star within the firm since joining us straight from school. Having learned the importance of delivering a quality service to clients during his time in Glasgow, he has succeeded in rejuvenating our office in Greenock at a time of very challenging trading conditions. Andrew's promotion to Associate is therefore fully deserved."
Established 125 years ago in Scotland, J&E Shepherd delivers a valuation service throughout the UK, from a network of 32 offices throughout Scotland and over 75 locations in England, Wales and the Channel Islands. It offers a multi disciplinary property service to include valuation, commercial agency, building surveying, rent reviews, development and investment consultancy, rating and property management. J&E Shepherd is now one of the largest independent firms of chartered surveyors in the UK.
