The building, which was extensively damaged by fire in June 2007, has been substantially upgraded with a range of attractive new facilities.
Attractions on offer include new flumes, new soft play area, new health spa, upgraded leisure pool with new water features and fitness centre. The leisure centre now boasts an excellent range of facilities to offer a fun day out for all the family.
The flagship development is owned by West Lothian Council and operated by West Lothian Leisure Ltd, who have contributed £800,000 to assist facility improvements.
Bruce Dixon, who chairs West Lothian Leisure, cut a ribbon to mark the official re-opening and Council Leader Peter Johnston unveiled a plaque to commemorate the refurbishment project.
"This is a very special occasion as it marks the re-opening of the leisure centre more than a year after it was forced to close down," said Councillor Johnston.
"I am confident that the people of Livingston and wider West Lothian will welcome, appreciate and enjoy the range of leisure facilities now available in this attractive new-look building."
Bruce Dixon added: "I must congratulate everyone involved with this ambitious project. The team all worked extremely hard and we now have one of the best and most exciting leisure centres in the UK.
"We are very happy with the quality of facilities on offer and the high level of design and finishes, which I am sure will be well received by our customers."
