Provost Of Fife Brings Development To Life At Topping Out Ceremony

Acting on behalf of Fife Council, Knight Frank welcomed the Provost of Fife to celebrate the topping out ceremony for John Smith Business Park 3 (JSbp3) in Kirkcaldy, Fife with the planting of a commemorative tree.

Following on from the success of the first two phases of the development, which have both been sold to MGt Plc, John Smith Business Park 3 (JSbp3) is nearing completion (February 2009) and tenants for the building are currently sought through Knight Frank property consultancy.

Provost of Fife Councillor Frances Melville joined representatives from Muirfield Contracts, Scottish Enterprise and Knight Frank to celebrate the new building which occupies a two acre plot on John Smith Business Park. Fife Council has provided the majority of the £3.15m funding for the project with the remainder from Scottish Enterprise.

The property will provide 23,500 sq ft of modern open plan office accommodation over three floors. The building will be finished to a high specification and will feature a double height entrance hall, two passengers lifts, raised floors, suspended ceilings incorporating modern recessed lighting and 80 car parking spaces.

JSbp3 forms part of John Smith Business Park, a 60 acre development site strategically located in central Fife. The park has outline planning consent for approximately 300,000 sq ft of class 4 business development, incorporating an element of hotel/leisure accommodation with land to the east allocated for residential development. JSbp3 is accessed via a recently completed roundabout on the A910, and is close to Fife Central Retail Park.

Situated in Kirkcaldy the site is approximately 25 miles north of Edinburgh. The park lies immediately adjacent to the A92 and offers a high degree of prominence and excellent access.

Nadir Khan-Juhoor, partner, Knight Frank in Edinburgh, said: "In association with our client, Fife Council we are delighted to have the Provost of Fife, Councillor Frances Melville plant a commemorative tree as part of the topping out ceremony for JSbp3."
