Bellfield Park Play Equipment Upgrade Gets The Go-Ahead

Members of The Highland Council's Inverness City Committee have agreed to spend £120,000 on updating play equipment at Bellfield Park, Inverness, work will begin immediately.

Equipment was chosen following public consultation, which attracted almost 500 responses.

The final designs show a new and improved toddler area, adjacent to the paddling pool, and a new and improved junior area on the main play site, with a large chute and a climbing wall complex.


There will also be additional seating and litter bins. The area adjacent to the tennis courts will have fitness equipment that is suitable for children and adults, and a set of 7-a-side football goals will be installed within the tennis court area.

A fenced barbecue area will be sited where the old bird house used to be, near to the ship.

Provost Jimmy Gray, Chairman of the Inverness City Committee, said: "We are all very pleased to see work starting on this eagerly-awaited upgrade of such a popular landmark facility in the city. We would like to thank everyone who helped identify the equipment they wanted to see in the park."
