Prime Minister Gordon Brown met with City Building representatives recently at the National Labour Party Conference in Manchester to congratulate the company on their excellent promotional stand and to present an award to delighted staff.
Mr Brown was joined by his wife Sarah in acknowledgement of the company and presented a rosette and bottle of champagne to City Building representatives Gail Pringle and Beth Morrison during the four-day event.
City Building attended the Conference to highlight the company's strong commitment to construction training and employment opportunities, as well as their long history of construction and regeneration work across Glasgow.
City Building is proud to train more apprentices than any other construction company in Scotland and their commitment to the provision of quality training was again underlined by their recent intake of 140 apprentices, bucking the trend caused by the current economic downturn.
Gail Pringle, City Building Assistant Marketing Manager, said: "We are delighted by the support and acknowledgement the Prime Minister and his wife have shown us and we are very pleased to accept this award. We aim to use events such as these in the future as a platform to further strengthen the City Building brand."
This success follows on from the news that City Building apprentice Stephen Millar has been voted Scotland's Federation of Master Builders Regional Apprentice of The Year 2008. Stephen will now go forward to the finals of the National Apprentice of The Year, won last year by City Building's Mark Lynch.
