Social housing refurbishment and maintenance specialists, Connaught Partnerships Ltd has pledged £1,000 to help Glasgow City LFC stay in the competition for the UEFA Women's Cup.
The team is due to travel to Oslo for the second qualification round of the UEFA Women's Cup after successfully funding the entire first round themselves, Glasgow City LFC now needs to raise £15,000 to make the second round of the competition.
Martin Morrison, area director for Connaught in Scotland said: "Connaught is delighted to support Glasgow City LFC in its bid to become UEFA champions and we look forward to the team's performance in Norway.
"Working across many communities in Glasgow, we recognise the value and importance of investing in sports to improve the health and wellbeing of people in the city. Indeed, Connaught will continue to support our local teams across the many sporting disciplines in preparation for the ultimate test when Glasgow hosts the 2014 Commonwealth Games."
Currently Scottish Women's Football premier league champions, Glasgow City LFC have an impressive track record attracting the cream of Scottish talent from across the city.
Carol Anne Stewart, chairperson for Glasgow City LFC, said: "We are delighted to receive this financial support from Connaught. We are looking forward to taking our UEFA Cup campaign to Norway and this donation goes someway to helping us achieve that goal."
Glasgow City LFC's first match will take place on 9th October when they face Norwegian team, Roa IL Oslo.
