A series of mosaics have helped give a facelift to £120,000 improvements at Glenview Park in Larkhall.
Following discussions with local people and Changing Places Larkhall, the South lanarkshire Council commissioned artist Alan Potter to work with a group of young people from the town to design and create 15 individual mosaics on the parks' pathways.
And the centrepiece of the artwork is a historical mosaic in the memorial fountain which shows a timeline of major historical events and periods in Larkhall's history which was created with help from the Larkhall Heritage Group.
The artwork scattered through the park enhances the recent £120,000 improvement programme by the council's Community Resources and Community Regeneration Fund which saw new play equipment, path improvements and benches being installed.
Councillor Gerry Convery, the chair of the Community Resources Committee, said: "I am delighted at the improvements which have been made to the park. Both Community and Enterprise Resources have devoted a lot of time and money to the project and it's wonderful to see the end product."
And Councillor Chris Thompson, the chair of the Enterprise Resources Committee, said: "The park is looking absolutely fantastic. It was great that the local community were so involved in the key decisions about what should go into the park.
"I am sure they feel a great sense of pride and ownership about the park and it will be a focal point for everyone to enjoy."
