Forth Construction attracted almost 70 local construction companies to an event where they found out how to sell their services to Clackmannanshire and Stirling Councils.
The event held at Gean House, Alloa, was full to capacity as Clackmannanshire Council's Head of Procurement Derek Barr delivered a comprehensive presentation on procurement guidelines.
Following the presentation both Derek and Stirling Council's Procurement Manager Don MacMillan fielded numerous questions from those present. There was also a chance to ask questions in a more informal way at the networking buffet which followed. A number of Stirling Council's procurement team circulated and answered questions on a one to one basis.
Forth Construction Project Co-ordinator Martin Reid said: "The event was a tremendous success. We very much appreciate the efforts put in by both Councils and know our members welcomed the chance to speak to them. At a time when some companies are finding it difficult to source work, any chance to demystify the procurement process is to be welcomed, and very much to the Council's credit. I hope many more Councils follow Clackmannanshire and Stirling's lead."
Forth Construction aims to assist the local construction industry to become more efficient and effective in the regeneration of Forth Valley communities.
