Miller Construction scooped a top accolade for excellence throughout its Scottish operations, at a ceremony last Thursday.
The leading construction firm was recognised at the fifth annual Property Executive Awards for Excellence, held at the Corn Exchange in Edinburgh with over 300 industry experts in attendance.
The company won the Construction Award for Excellence, beating stiff competition from other finalists Dawn and Laing O'Rourke.
Brian McQuade, Joint Managing Director, Miller Construction, said: "I was extremely proud to collect the accolade which recognises our hard work and commitment to excellence company-wide.
"I accept the award not only on behalf of Miller Construction, but also on behalf of our clients who have given us the opportunity to deliver some truly fantastic and innovative buildings, and also our supply chain and designers with whom we have excellent relationships."
The award was presented in recognition of the innovation shown throughout Miller's projects, its partnering approach, and its success in winning numerous multi-million pound contracts across the country. It was also praised for its approach to staff welfare and environmental awareness.
On presentation of the award, the judges said: "This last year has seen Miller Construction complete a number of major projects within Scotland including B&Q Hermiston Gait, Beatson Oncology Glasgow and Queen Margaret University student residences in Edinburgh. It has consistently raised its average contract value and secured projects in a wide variety of sectors.
"Constantly aiming to improve their delivery capabilities they have appointed a dedicated Employee Development Manager to ensure staff develop professionally and improve their qualifications. A number of health and safety initiatives have been introduced over last year leading to an enviable safety culture. Other innovations include the appointment of a Sustainability Construction Manager, the introduction of nurses and gyms, professionally catered canteens and a prayer room."
Brian McQuade added: "We are committed to building on these strengths and continuing to strive for excellence in every aspect of our work."
