Robertson joined Dundee City Council to welcome pupils into three new primary schools and the first part of the Grove Academy replacement delivered during phase one of the city's £90m PPP programme.
Special ceremonies took place at Craigowl, Downfield and St Andrew's primaries as well as Grove Academy to mark pupils moving into the new modern educational facilities. Also included in the first phase was Claypotts Castle Primary which opened in May.
The second phase of the PPP programme is now underway and will see the completion of Grove Academy as well as the development of St Paul's Academy and Fintry and Rowantree primaries. The new schools will open throughout Spring 2009 with the remaining phase of Grove Academy due for completion in October next year.
The schools re-building programme is being delivered by the Discovery Education consortium which includes Robertson Capital Projects, Robertson Tayside, Robertson Central, Sir Robert McAlpine and Robertson Facilities Management.
Executive chairman, Bill Robertson said: "It is extremely pleasing that Robertson was in attendance to welcome pupils into these new modern educational facilities. From the design stage through to construction, we have remained focused on creating purpose-built premises which contribute positively to the learning outcomes of local children.
"We look forward to strengthening our relationship with the council throughout the second phase of the project which will deliver a further two primary schools, one secondary school and the second phase of Grove Academy.
"Our relationship will continue thereafter under a 30 year partnership with the council through the provision of hard and soft FM services, the latter in joint venture with Tayside Contracts, a commercial organisation part owned by the council."
