Road surfacing work at the A720 Sheriffhall roundabout, Midlothian - which required overnight local road closures over the last two weekends - has now been completed by BEAR Scotland. This means there is no need for these additional traffic restrictions overnight from 31 August – 1 September 2008.

However, temporary traffic management arrangements have now reverted to all approaches to the roundabout being reduced to two lanes of traffic. On the roundabout itself, traffic is reduced from three lanes to two.


A 30mph speed limit is in place. The overall works remain on programme for completion by the middle of September.

The 12-week scheme is part of a package of improvements to upgrade the Sheriffhall roundabout in advance of the opening of the A68 Dalkeith by-pass later in September.

Drivers are asked to leave plenty of time for their journeys, consider alternative routes and to plan their trip in advance.
