Clackmannanshire Council's Regulatory Committee have said they are 'minded to approve' a planning application for development of land in Dollar.
The outline application, made by AWG/Taylor Wimpey Development, involved the land adjoining Kellyburn at Lovers Loan being developed for a cemetery, a playing field and changing accommodation and up to 20 houses with associated car parking, road improvements and landscaping.
As the Council has an interest in the development, final approval lay with the Scottish Government. The Council has now received notification from the Government that it will not call the application in for scrutiny and the application will therefore now be approved by the Council once it has concluded a legal agreement with the developer to control the funding and timing of the community facilities and the implementation of the local road improvements.
Once the outline planning permission has been issued, it is expected that the developer will start work on more detailed proposals, and these will be subject to a further planning application in due course
The Council's approval of more detailed plans is reliant on conditions, including construction being managed to a high standard. Traffic calming measures and road improvements would be included in any approved plans and, where appropriate, the Council would consult further with the school, health centre and residents.
The Council has written to everyone who submitted comments on the application to inform them of the Government's decision.
