Select Set To Shine At Electrotechnical Awards

Scotland's expert and entrepreneurial electricians are getting ready to shine at the biggest night of the year.

Nominations have now closed for 2008's SELECT Electrotechnical Awards and the glittering event is shaping up to be the best ever. Since the awards were successfully launched in 2006, they have quickly become recognised as the high point of the industry's calendar.

Run by SELECT, the industry body for the vitally important electrotechnical sector, and its official magazine CABLEtalk, the awards not only have the serious purpose of promoting electrical excellence in Scotland, but they also provide a great night out for hard-working member firms.

This year the categories include: Best Small Contractor, Best New Product, Best Use of Training, Best Electrical Safety Product, Best Customer Service, Best Use of Marketing and Wholesaler of the Year. The winners will be revealed at a gala dinner at the Radisson SAS Hotel in Glasgow on October 17.

Newell McGuinness, Managing Director of SELECT, said: "This year the awards are already set to be bigger and better than last year. 2008 is definitely going to outshine previous years.

"The industry in Scotland now recognises the value and profile of this event, which is a magnificent showcase for everybody involved in the electrotechnical supply chain. I, for one, am really looking forward to another successful and exciting night in October and meeting up again with industry friend old and new."
