Two of George Wimpey East Scotland's site managers, Bill Torry and Mike Mullen, have scooped a coveted NHBC Pride in the Job Award.
They won for their work at their developments - St David's Gardens in Eskbank, Dalkeith (Bill Torry) and Masterton Lea in Dunfermline, Fife (Mike Mullen).
With a string of top ten rankings in 1990, 1992, 1993; the overall number one spot in 1995 and a quality award in 1998, as well as this most recent NHBC accolade, Bill is one of the company's most accomplished site managers. He joined George Wimpey East Scotland 36 years ago as a joiner, and has been a site manager for the last 22 years.
However, he still remains committed to achieving the very best on every development as he explains: "I'm highly delighted to have won an NHBC 'Pride in the Job' Award that recognises the superb team effort and levels of excellence that we've achieved here at St David's Gardens.
"I'm passionate about striving to deliver the very best I can on every site, each and every day - it's a philosophy that's driven me throughout my 36-year career with George Wimpey. The team effort, their experience and commitment to consistently produce a high quality range of homes has played a vital role in achieving this award."
Mike started his career in the industry as an apprentice joiner, and he has worked his way steadily through the ranks to enjoy the last seven years as a site manager with George Wimpey East Scotland.
This is Mike's second Pride in the Job Award, but he's just as delighted as he was first time round as he explains: "Winning my second NHBC 'Pride in the Job' Award is as exciting as the first. It gives recognition to the teamwork that goes into creating a truly exceptional development, plus it's a great way to motivate the team to produce consistent and high-quality work. It's also an impressive accolade that showcases the talent and skills of the whole team at Masterton Lea."
