Balfour Kilpatrick Awarded Contracts Totalling Nearly £4m

Balfour Kilpatrick's Scotland Region has been awarded two contracts totalling nearly £4m to supply services for Marks & Spencer stores in Livingston and Ayr.

The £2.7m Livingston project comprises the complete electrical and mechanical installation comprising HV/LV distribution including standby generator, lighting, small power, security and fire systems, structured cabling infrastructure, HVAC, installation of roof mounted package plant rooms, AHUs and a building controls system.

The client on this 24-week project is Simpson and the ultimate client is Marks and Spencer plc. Balfour Kilpatrick started on site at Almondvale Shopping Centre in April 2008 with a completion month of September 2008. Steven Palmer is managing the Balfour Kilpatrick operations on site assisted by Nick McAloon and Paul Currie.

The £1.2m Ayr project comprises mechanical and electrical services. New customer toilets will be installed in addition to a new "Cafi Revive". Electrical services include the upgrading of lighting, small power, new public address, new CCTV, intruder/access upgrade, new IT and switchgear alterations.

Mechanical works include new heating to the food hall, controls modifications, plumbing and ventilation to the new toilets and cafi in addition to other ventilation modifications.

The client on this project is McLaughlin and Harvey and the ultimate client is Marks and Spencer plc. Balfour Kilpatrick is due to start on site in June 2008 with a completion month of October 2008.
