DM Hall LLP chartered surveyors has added to its operation in Fife with the acquisition of Cupar business Johnston Surveys, the firm run by land surveying specialist Mr David Martin.
Besides retaining Mr Martin's services in a consultancy role during the changeover period DM Hall LLP will be strengthening its presence in Cupar with the opening of a new office at Crossgate in the town centre.
When taken together with the firm's existing assets in Fife, the acquisition gives DM Hall LLP an important accession of strength in a key area of endeavour.
DM Hall Partner John Dewar, who will run the new office base, said: "David Martin is a thoroughly well-known and recognised specialist in his field.
"Since he has been aiming to retire, and was therefore willing to sell, it was the perfect juncture for our firm to acquire his business; and as part of the incorporation of Johnston Surveys within DM Hall LLP, he will be staying on for a time on a consultancy basis to oversee the smooth transition of the business into the firm."
David Martin said: "When considering my retirement I naturally made Jim Honeyman of DM Hall LLP my first port of call in initiating contact with the firm, as someone steeped in the Cupar surveying world, and as a senior surveyor and Associate with DM Hall."
He added: "The opportunity to join with DM Hall LLP will allow for greater expansion and coverage for this type of service - we are very glad to join a practice of such varied expertise and reputation."
