On April 30 in Edinburgh and May 1 in Glasgow, Drivers Jonas and Semple Fraser are to join forces to look at the implications of the Planning (Scotland) Act and its effects on the Scottish commercial property landscape in 2008 and beyond.
Maria Francké, Head of Planning at Drivers Jonas in Scotland, said: "With the seemingly endless stream of consultations on the act emerging over the past few months, it's no wonder 'consultation fatigue' has begun to set in as all and sundry comment on them and try to forecast what their impact might be.
"While the changes under the Act are dominating the planning agenda, it might appear as if nothing else of significance is happening to the planning system, but the Act is only part of a much bigger picture, with equally radical shifts in law, policy and procedure going almost unnoticed."
Speakers will include Michael Dowds of Drivers Jonas who will present on the provisions of the new Act and its impact on developers, local authorities and the Scottish Government. Maria Francké of Drivers Jonas will present on Delivering Development: The Way Forward - The costs and consequences of implementation with a practical guide to winning under the new system
June Gilles of Semple Fraser will look at the New Politics of Planning - the ability of the planning system to deliver what is needed and will moot the possible solutions. Alix Donaldson of Semple Fraser will speak about what is new in planning and what you need to know.
The conference will also present you with an opportunity to network with peers in your industry and share best practice. Numbers are limited at this event, to book your space contact Lorna Dick at Drivers Jonas call 0141-240 1200.
