Ayrshire Housing Appoints New Director To Lead £11.4m Homes Investment

Ayrshire Housing has appointed Scott Cunningham as its new Director of Assets and Compliance, a key role created to oversee a substantial £11.4 million investment in its housing stock over the next five years.

The housing association's recently launched Business Plan 2030 outlines this significant package of investment, which will focus on delivering new kitchens, windows, bathrooms, heating systems, and energy efficiency measures across its properties by 2030.

Scott Cunningham expressed his enthusiasm for the new role: "I am absolutely delighted to be joining Ayrshire Housing. This is an exciting time for us and I want help to build on the existing high level of service delivery and keep our tenants at the heart of everything we do. I look forward to starting my new role, especially working with the existing high preforming staff on a wide range of exciting objectives within our business plan."

In addition to managing the asset investment programme, Mr Cunningham's responsibilities will include ensuring the association meets all its Health & Safety obligations in his compliance remit.

Joining Ayrshire Housing from West of Scotland Housing Association, Scott Cunningham brings experience in innovative housing projects, including the retrofitting of homes with infrared wallpaper. This technology heats mass rather than the air, directly warming occupants and potentially playing a significant role in reducing energy bills.

Ayrshire Housing was formed in 2003 through the merger of Carrick Housing Association and South Ayrshire Homes. Since its inception, it has grown significantly to become a leading provider of high-quality, affordable rented housing in the area, currently managing 1700 homes in both urban and rural settings.

Lesley-Anne Junner, Chief Executive of Ayrshire Housing, welcomed the appointment: "As we start the roll out of our new Business Plan 2030 Scott's experience at managing ground breaking projects, helping to bring the latest technology into homes to make them as efficient as possible, will be a huge asset. I'm delighted to welcome him to the team. The agenda to make homes as efficient as possible has never been more pressing and with Scott's expertise we will be utilising a full range of new technologies to achieve this in both retrofit work and new build homes."
