Ayrshire-based McTaggart Construction has paid tribute to the exceptional long service of six key employees, each marking their 25th year with the company during 2025.
The award-winning specialist affordable home builder acknowledged the significant contributions of these individuals, who have played crucial roles in building the company's valued reputation.
Janice Russell, Managing Director of the family-owned firm, highlighted the importance of these employees, stating: "We are privileged to commemorate their remarkable achievements and extend our gratitude to each of them for their substantial contributions to our growing status as one of Scotland's specialist home builders. The foundation of our company's strength lies within our people, and we passionately believe that by investing in their growth – providing support, and acknowledging their efforts – we have fostered an exceptional team, which positively impacts upon our daily operation. The longevity of their service and our exceptional 96% staff retention stands as testament to our commitment to understanding and connecting with our team, enabling them to achieve their ambitions, cultivate their careers, and most importantly, take pleasure in their work every day."
Ms Russell praised the invaluable contributions of each employee:
• Mandy McKerrell, the company's cleaner, was recognised as an essential team member who ensures a pristine and welcoming environment.
• John Kelland, the company driver, affectionately known as 'half load', was commended for his willingness to go the extra mile with safe and efficient deliveries, often in challenging conditions.
• William Keirs, a skilled operative, was acknowledged for his hard work and practical competence across numerous projects. This week marks William's retirement after 25 years of service.
• Andrew Kennedy, who progressed from site joiner to Customer Care Supervisor, was celebrated for his exceptional craftsmanship and commitment to client satisfaction.
• Kevin McCormick, who started as a joiner and advanced to assistant site manager, was recognised as a valuable team member who contributed to prestigious projects, including the RIAS building of the year-winning Laurieston development. Reflecting on his tenure, Kevin expressed his pride in his 25 years with McTaggart's.
• Ally Anderson, a company director for over 25 years, was lauded for his enduring commitment and knowledge, which have been instrumental in driving the company's growth and success, overseeing crucial support functions such as finance, IT, and HR.
