Bowhill Institute Redevelopment Shortlisted For Prestigious Net Zero Award

Ore Valley Housing Association's redevelopment of the historic Bowhill Institute building in Cardenden, Fife, has been shortlisted for a sustainability accolade at the Unlock Net Zero Awards 2025.

The project has been named a finalist in the 'Retrofit Project of the Year – North and Scotland' category, recognising its contribution to sustainable regeneration and energy efficiency.

Winners will be announced during an awards ceremony in Manchester on 24 June, which will take place alongside the annual Housing 2025 conference.

The Unlock Net Zero Awards celebrate impactful climate action from individuals and organisations across the UK. The awards aim to spotlight excellence and collaboration through a range of categories honouring people, partnerships, projects, and companies that are helping lead the transition to net zero.

The Bowhill redevelopment project, which combines heritage preservation with modern energy-efficient design, has been highlighted as an example of how innovative retrofitting can contribute to sustainable housing and community regeneration.
