Housing provision in Edinburgh is set to be boosted by the development of 28 new affordable homes in the South Gilmerton area.
Home Group Scotland will construct a mix of two- and three-bedroom properties at the Farrier Fields site in the south-east of the city. Crucially, half of the 28 homes will be allocated for much-needed social rent for local people.
The remaining properties will be offered at mid-market rent, providing additional affordable housing options for residents in the South Gilmerton area.
Home Group Scotland is collaborating with national housebuilder Taylor Wimpey on this project, building on their previous partnership in delivering affordable homes in Winchburgh, to the west of Edinburgh.
Bryony Willett, Director of Home Group Scotland, said: "We are delighted to be delivering these new affordable homes around Edinburgh. There is significant local need across Edinburgh, and we know partnering with established housebuilders will allow us to deliver high quality new homes in our communities. It is vital that these new homes are affordable, and we are proud to reflect that in the homes we deliver."
Home Group Scotland currently manages approximately 5,000 homes across Scotland, playing a significant role in the provision of both affordable and social housing.
