Perth and Kinross Council has finished an £800,000 project to improve the streetscape of Pullar Terrace in Perth, responding directly to concerns raised by local residents.

Following contact from residents regarding several issues affecting their street, Perth and Kinross Council's Housing Service undertook a comprehensive range of improvements on the land, which is owned by the Council's Housing Revenue Account.

Key works carried out include:

• Enhancements to the drainage system to prevent flooding in front gardens during periods of heavy rainfall.

• Removal of overgrown shrubs and trees that were obstructing satellite and television aerial signals.

• Replacement of a set of old and deteriorating outdoor stairs.

• Reconstruction of a retaining wall that had begun to show signs of bowing.

• Improvements to a greenspace embankment, enhancing the visual appeal of the area and making it easier to maintain.

Throughout the planning and execution of the project, residents of Pullar Terrace were fully consulted to ensure their needs and feedback were taken into account.

Councillor Tom McEwan, Convener of Housing and Social Wellbeing for Perth and Kinross Council, visited Pullar Terrace to inspect the completed works. He stated: "The completion of the project at Pullar Terrace underlines our commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our tenants and residents. We listened to their concerns and invested a significant amount of money to address them. The positive feedback we've received from tenants and residents about how the work has improved the street shows the importance of the community engagement we carried out through the process. The new drainage system, embankment and structural replacements have not only resolved immediate issues but also improved the overall look and functionality of the area. The project highlights how close partnership working between the Council and residents can lead to meaningful and lasting improvements."
