Net Zero Facades, a Cumbernauld-based specialist in energy-efficient building exteriors, has tripled the size of its headquarters to accommodate larger contracts and achieve a projected 50% increase in turnover this year. The company, known for transforming buildings into modern and sustainable exteriors across the UK, has relocated to a significantly larger site in Cumbernauld.
This expansion is supported by a seven-figure Buildings Transition Loan from Bank of Scotland, enabling the firm to scale its operations and pursue larger projects. The move also positions the company to potentially expand its workforce beyond its current 22 employees.
Building on its commitment to sustainability, Net Zero Facades will implement further renewable energy measures at the new site, including solar panel installation and a biomass heating system. This follows the company's transition to 100% renewable electricity sources last March.
Recently, Net Zero Facades received the Project of the Year by a Specialist Contractor award at the Construction News Awards for its work on the Aurora project, now known as "Glasgow's most sustainable office." The project, which retained 77% of its embodied carbon, provides the company with significant recognition as it seeks to expand its operations.
Stephen Anderson, managing director at Net Zero Facades, said: "It's incredible to think that we set up just three years ago and we're already expanding at this scale. Demand is soaring, especially among developers in Scotland's central belt, and this move gives us the capacity to take on bigger projects, designing even more low-carbon exteriors for developments across the UK. We're not just expanding - we're scaling with purpose. Moving to a site three times the size of our previous one is a game-changer. It gives us the capacity to support more businesses and continue progressing toward our net zero 2050 goal. It's an exciting time for us and the support from Bank of Scotland has been crucial in helping us reach this next milestone."
Derek Weir, relationship director at Bank of Scotland, said: "Net Zero Facades is a great example of how businesses can adopt more renewable practices within their business model to aid and facilitate growth. This expansion positions them perfectly to scale their business, meet increasing demand and strengthen their positive impact on the construction industry. We're proud to support Stephen and his team as they build on their impressive momentum. With a strong vision and the infrastructure now in place to match their ambitions, the business is set for even greater success."
