ScottishPower has been awarded the 'Best Use of Technology' at the UK Customer Service Awards this week, in recognition of its innovative app and Energy Insights tool. The award highlights the company's commitment to empowering customers to manage their energy consumption.

The Energy Insights tool, which is integrated within the ScottishPower app, provides customers with detailed visual charts of their energy usage, broken down by appliance. This allows users to identify areas where they can reduce consumption and save money. The app has been adopted by over 300,000 customers across the UK.

A customer survey revealed that over 70% of users found the Energy Insights tool useful, and ScottishPower data indicates that regular users achieve an average energy saving of 5%. The technology aims to simplify energy tracking and provide personalised recommendations for reducing household energy bills, particularly relevant during the current cost of living crisis.

Chris Brennan, ScottishPower Customer Business Digital Director, said: "This award is a fantastic achievement and a culmination of a lot of hard work and dedication from the digital team and our colleagues across the customer business. At a time where the cost of living is foremost in our customers' minds, ScottishPower's Energy Insights tool is a hugely valuable way for our customers to better track their home energy usage and provides personalised ideas that, if used, can help them save money on their energy bill."
