As Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2025 commences, Scottish Water is emphasising the value of apprenticeships and opening applications for its 2025 programs.
Under this year's theme, 'Made for Business', Scottish Water is highlighting how apprenticeships create lasting skills and opportunities for both individuals and employers. The company's Modern and Graduate Apprenticeships provide hands-on experience, practical skills, and the chance to contribute to Scotland's water sector.
As a Platinum Investor in Young People, Scottish Water is committed to developing the future workforce through its in-house Skills Academy, offering training, experience, and mentorship.
Applications are now open for 2025 apprenticeship programs, offering diverse roles in Business Analytics, Civil Engineering, Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance, Networks Engineering, Software Development, Water Treatment, and more. Modern Apprenticeships offer hands-on experience and industry qualifications, while Graduate Apprenticeships combine education with practical work.
"With Scottish Water, apprenticeships are more than just a qualification - they’re a real opportunity to make a difference," stated a Scottish Water spokesperson. "From day one, you’ll take on important, meaningful work that directly impacts communities across Scotland. You’ll be part of a team that’s dedicated to your development, with clear paths for career progression."
Many apprentices transition into permanent roles, taking on leadership or specialist positions.
Scottish Water, in partnership with BGEN, Binnies, ESD, George Leslie, Mackenzie Construction, RPS, RSE, Stantec, and WGM, is creating career opportunities across Scotland's water sector. The collaboration aims to develop skills, create jobs, and drive innovation to ensure Scotland's water infrastructure is future-proof.
Applications for Scottish Water apprenticeships are open until Sunday, 06 April, and can be submitted at www.scottishwater.co.uk/apprentice. More information about career opportunities can be found at www.watercareers.scot and apprenticeships.scot.
