Knight Property Group has won the prestigious Deal of the Year award at the Scottish Property Awards for the Wincanton letting at Belgrave Logistics Park in Bellshill. The award was presented at a ceremony in Glasgow attended by over 600 guests.
Wincanton, a major supply chain partner, expanded its Scottish operations by leasing a 126,960 sq ft speculatively developed unit at Belgrave Logistics Park. This 15-year lease represents one of Scotland's largest industrial deals of the year and the most significant letting of a speculative new build in the Greater Glasgow market since 2018.
"Securing Wincanton for this deal was a significant achievement and being recognised at the Scottish Property Awards is a huge honour," said James Barrack, Chairman and Founder of Knight Property Group. "Our commitment to developing top-tier speculative units in prime locations across Scotland remains a cornerstone of our ongoing strategy."
The judges commended the project as a bold and speculative venture with a strong green design, highlighting its significance in the current constrained industrial market.
The team behind the deal included agents Ryden and JLL (for Knight Property Group) and Savills (for Wincanton), solicitors Brodies and DWF, project architect SPACE Solutions, engineer Fairhurst, QS/CA Axiom, M&E consultants Wallace Whittle, and main contractor Clark Contracts.
The Scottish Property Awards, now in its 12th year, is an independent competition recognising excellence in the real estate sector. This year's judging panel of 13 experts reviewed over 40 projects.
