Construction has commenced on a new mixed-use development in Linlithgow, comprising a 60-bed care home and 18 private apartments.
The 1.6-acre site, located near Linlithgow Train Station, will be developed by a joint venture between Morrison Community Care Group and CCG (Scotland).
"This new development represents a significant investment for the Linlithgow community which, like many across Scotland, has a shortfall of modern accommodation for its elderly population," said Paul Sokhi, Managing Director of Morrison Community Care Group.
The care home will offer a range of services, including residential, nursing, and dementia care, and will feature a variety of amenities for residents, such as dining facilities, a hair salon, and a cinema.
“Our care homes follow a well-considered blueprint that gives priority to the resident's comfort," said Mr Sokhi. "Alongside private en-suite bedrooms, each resident will have access to dining facilities with meals cooked by professionally trained chefs, a hair salon, and a cinema, as well as tailored spaces that can be enjoyed privately with family members."
CCG will also be responsible for the development of 18 two-bedroom private apartments, which will be marketed under the CCG Homes brand.
"The expansion of CCG Homes into West Lothian is also significant as it represents the first time the brand has operated in the region since its relaunch in 2018," said David Wylie, Managing Director of CCG. "CCG Homes' standing in the private housing market is strong with a portfolio of sites across the Central Belt, and we are confident the luxury specification, enhanced sustainability credentials, and the incredibly well-connected town centre location will be of great interest to buyers moving to Linlithgow in the next 18 months."
Construction is expected to be completed by the end of next year.
