Scottish Renewables has launched the second year of its New Voices Campaign, a programme designed to equip professionals from diverse backgrounds with the skills and confidence to become influential voices within the renewable energy sector.

The campaign aims to build a more diverse and inclusive workforce that reflects the changing demographics of society.

"Championing diversity, inclusivity and openness isn't just the right thing to do, it's essential," said Claire Mack, Chief Executive of Scottish Renewables. "The New Voices Campaign is already delivering lasting change for its participants and our industry and I'm proud that people who may not have had the confidence to speak in public before are able to do so because of the training they received through the campaign last year."


The first training session of the year focused on confidence building, providing participants with strategies to manage anxiety and boost performance.

The inaugural New Voices Campaign has already demonstrated significant success. One graduate from the first cohort won the Aspiring Leader Award at the UK-wide Global Offshore Wind Awards, while another met with Michael Shanks MP, Minister for Energy, to share their experiences in the sector.

The New Voices Campaign will run throughout 2025, providing participants with training in public speaking, storytelling, and media engagement.
