B&K Hume Groundworks, a leading civil engineering and groundworks contractor based in Greenlaw, has purchased one of the first JCB DualDrive backhoe loaders in Scotland.
The company acquired the new JCB 4CX Pro DualDrive machine from Scot JCB. The machine features unique pearlescent orange paintwork.
"We already had a JCB 4CX and were happy with the performance so when it was time to replace it, we automatically looked to JCB," said Kenny Hume, Director of B&K Hume Groundworks. "The option of DualDrive was a key function that will be a great asset to the machine's capability. We anticipate using the feature a lot when picking up gravel for drainage tracks. It will save a lot of time running back and forth without having to turn round."
The JCB 4CX Pro DualDrive allows the operator to drive and reposition the machine while facing the excavator, without having to turn the seat to the front-facing position.
The new 4CX Pro model also boasts a number of other improvements, including a single loader lever, revised direction control, a return to grade function, and an upgraded quickhitch with a wider fork carriage.
Founded in 2004, B&K Hume Groundworks offers civil engineering and groundworks services across the Borders, Lothians, Edinburgh, and Northumberland.
