JR Group Commits To Support Social Enterprises
Paisley-based construction company, The JR Group, has committed to supporting social enterprises by signing the Social Enterprise Scotland Buy Social Pledge.
The initiative connects private businesses, SMEs, academic institutions, and public sector bodies with social enterprises, encouraging them to integrate these businesses into their supply chains.
By signing the pledge, The JR Group will gain access to a wide range of social enterprises across various sectors, enabling them to source services such as cleaning, signage, waste disposal, and catering from organizations with a social mission.
"Signing up to the Buy Social Pledge helps us ensure that we're having as positive an impact in communities across Scotland as we can, by working with businesses who are motivated by their social impact," said Gayle O'Hear, Construction Administration Manager at The JR Group.
The JR Group already has a strong track record of implementing community benefits during their projects, including supporting local suppliers, donating to sports clubs, enhancing community gardens, and working with schools and community groups.
"The ethos of the Buy Social Pledge is a natural fit when bringing affordable homes to life and is the next step in our journey to making a positive impact in Scotland's communities," added O'Hear.
Jamie Lawson, Strategic Partnerships & Engagement Manager at Social Enterprise Scotland, welcomed The JR Group's commitment: "We are delighted to welcome The JR Group to the Buy Social Pledge. Their commitment demonstrates the powerful role the construction industry can play in supporting social enterprises and the communities in which they work. We look forward to working closely with The JR Group to maximise the social and environmental impact of their projects."
The Buy Social Pledge is part of the national Buy Social Scotland campaign, which aims to connect businesses and public sector organizations with social enterprise suppliers, promoting corporate responsibility and diversity while helping social enterprises grow.
