Avant Homes Scotland has acquired an 11.1-acre site at Blindwells, East Lothian, to develop a new residential community comprising 174 homes.

The £47.8 million development, named Althamer View, will feature a mix of two-, three-, four-, and five-bedroom family homes, with 52 designated as affordable housing.

Althamer View will be part of the wider Blindwells masterplan, which encompasses 1,600 homes, new education facilities, a healthcare hub, local retail outlets, and other community amenities.

"We are thrilled to kick off 2025 with the news of our latest land sale which will see the development of more high-quality new homes at Blindwells," said Bruce Lindsay, development director at Hargreaves Land.

Construction work on the development is scheduled to commence in the coming weeks, with the first homes expected to go on sale in early March.

Avant Homes Scotland currently has 11 live developments across Scotland, including Craigowl Law in Dundee and Draffen Park in Stewarton.

This development marks a significant step forward in the ongoing development of the Blindwells community.
