Scottish Government Housing Minister Paul McLennan recently visited Casa, Vista Park, a thriving rental neighbourhood in Springboig, Glasgow, to highlight the growing importance of purpose-built rental communities in addressing Scotland's housing challenges.
Developed by Moda and built by CCG, Casa, Vista Park comprises 156 houses and apartments, offering a range of homes for families, young professionals, and downsizers. Since its launch in November 2022, the neighbourhood has been highly successful, with all phases pre-let ahead of completion.
Minister McLennan praised the development: "Casa, Vista Park demonstrates the transformational potential of purpose-built rental communities in helping to address Scotland's housing crisis. By offering professionally managed, energy-efficient homes that meet the needs of families and key workers, this model provides a sustainable and inclusive solution to our housing challenges."
Matthew Townson, Development and Project Developer at Moda, emphasised the success of the community: "Casa, Vista Park is a testament to the power of collaboration and innovation in addressing Scotland's urgent housing needs. We've created a place where families can thrive, offering the space, security, and sustainability they deserve."
Jane Wood, Chief Executive of Homes for Scotland, highlighted the importance of supporting the growth of the build-to-rent sector: "Today's visit by the Minister is welcome recognition of the significant role that build-to-rent homes have to play in addressing Scotland's national housing emergency."
Calum Murray, Director at CCG, emphasised the company's role in delivering the project: "Having led Casa, Vista Park entirely from land acquisition through design and into construction, CCG has demonstrated the full extent of our in-house capabilities to unlock brownfield sites and create high-quality places to live."
Casa, Vista Park serves as a model for replicating successful build-to-rent developments across Scotland. By fostering partnerships between BTR operators, local authorities, and housebuilders, Scotland can accelerate the delivery of much-needed, professionally managed rental homes and address the nation's housing challenges.
