Scottish property company Knight Property Group has acquired a vacant 46,858 sq ft industrial unit on the outskirts of Uddingston in South Lanarkshire. The company has begun a £0.5 million refurbishment project to bring the unit up to modern standards.
Located within the sought-after Tannochside Business Park, the mid-1990s unit features a warehouse with a mezzanine and office space. The property also includes a secure yard for HGV operations and dedicated staff parking.
The refurbishment project, managed by Eycon, is scheduled for completion this spring. The works will include a complete overhaul of the roof, gutters, and windows, alongside the redecoration of the interior office space and exposed structural steelwork.
Howard Crawshaw, Managing Director of Knight Property Group, said: "Having acquired the unit in December 2024, we are delighted to see refurbishment works commence so quickly. This unit will soon provide over 46,000 sq ft of high-quality industrial and warehouse space. This project represents a significant addition to the local market, helping to meet the growing demand for modern, high-spec industrial units in this highly desirable part of Lanarkshire.
"Having successfully delivered several speculative developments across the area, including Belgrave Logistics Park in Bellshill and Langlands Commercial Park in East Kilbride, we are proud to continue investing in Lanarkshire’s business landscape. The strong demand for premium industrial space in the area is putting pressure on existing supply and this development reinforces our confidence in Lanarkshire as an excellent place to do business."
Gregor Harvie, Partner at Ryden added: "We are delighted to bring this refurbished industrial unit to the market, offering much-needed, high-quality commercial space in a key location within Lanarkshire. The unit upgrade will meet the demands of modern businesses, providing flexible and efficient space for a variety of industrial and warehouse operators.
"With the growing demand for premium industrial units in the area, this property offers an ideal opportunity for businesses looking to establish or expand their presence in this prime location. We anticipate strong interest from occupiers keen to benefit from the excellent transport links and local amenities that Lanarkshire has to offer."
Tannochside Park boasts a strategic location approximately 10 miles east of Glasgow city centre and offers easy access to major motorways including the M8, M74, and M73. The park also benefits from proximity to established businesses like Welding Engineers and Caledonian Plywood Company.
