Kier has completed construction of a new surgical centre at NHS Golden Jubilee in Clydebank.
The centre will increase the hospital's patient capacity and enable the treatment of thousands of people waiting for vital care and procedures.
Scottish First Minister, John Swinney, visited the project to mark the occasion.
Kier worked closely with NHS Golden Jubilee and the Scottish Government to deliver a range of first-class facilities.
The centre was developed with input from patients and staff. It enhances the hospital's capacity for general and orthopaedic surgery, diagnostic procedures, and endoscopy.
The modern new facilities include five state-of-the-art orthopaedic theatres, a central sterilising department, and five endoscopy procedure rooms.
Modern Methods of Construction were used to deliver the project efficiently. The concrete frame and brick-clad façade were manufactured off-site, reducing construction time.
Phil McDowell, regional director at Kier Construction North & Scotland, said: "I am delighted to see NHS Golden Jubilee's new Surgical Centre open and treating patients. This state-of-the-art facility represents a significant leap forward in Scotland's healthcare infrastructure, helping to meet the growing demand for key elective specialties. The collaboration between NHS Golden Jubilee, Kier and the Scottish Government has been fantastic, and the innovative construction methods used have set a new standard for efficiency and quality."
Gordon James, Chief Executive of NHS Golden Jubilee, said: "As a national hospital, NHS Golden Jubilee is proud to support the increasing demand for planned care services throughout Scotland.
"With the addition of new theatres for orthopaedic surgeries and a dedicated endoscopy unit, we are prepared to treat thousands more patients who are waiting for hip and knee replacements as well as diagnostic procedures. This expansion will not only improve patient care but also significantly enhance staff training opportunities and clinical excellence.
"Following extensive collaboration with patients, staff, and third-sector partners, we are delighted to announce our new centre is open, providing outstanding care and innovative treatment options for patients across the country."
