St Andrews Timber & Building Supplies has donated a giant teddy bear to Prestonfield Primary School's Christmas fair.

The school is using the fundraiser to raise money for classroom resources, playground improvements, and school trips.

St Andrews, whose Edinburgh headquarters is near the school, is pleased to support the event, which will take place on Saturday, December 14th, from 1pm to 3pm.

A lucky guesser of the bear's name will win the cuddly toy.

Ryan Cockburn, transport manager at St Andrews' city base, is a former pupil of Prestonfield Primary School, and he said: "Being the primary school local to our main branch, we were delighted to play a part with our donation.

"I know how important the school is to the community and funds are vital to its ability to support its pupils in the best ways possible.

"Hopefully the fair raises lots of money which will make a big difference to the school for next year's projects."

As part of its ongoing Christmas charity work, the firm is also donating to the Cruden annual foodbank drive in support of Trussell UK and its network of local foodbanks.
