St Andrews Timber & Building Supplies is expanding its offering after partnering with HSS Hire Group (HSS) to supply tool and equipment hire.
The company's first collaboration of its kind sees a dedicated HSS counter located at its West Lothian base in Livingston from this week which is open to both the trade and public.
With the equipment stored at the firm's expansive Livingston premises, customers can collect everything from mini-diggers and cement mixers to stihl saws, power tools and dehumidifiers six days a week.
If bigger plant options are not available on site, they will be delivered to customers within a day.
All being well, St Andrews plans to expand the HSS service to its Edinburgh headquarters at Prestonfield in the coming months.
It's the latest significant development for the Edinburgh-headquartered firm, which has been shortlisted for Sustainable and Environmental Initiative of the Year and Builders' Merchant of the Year (1-5 branches) at the upcoming Builders' Merchants Awards 2024.
"We are very pleased to have entered into this partnership which offers a comprehensive selection of tool and plant hire," said Kerrie Ferguson, St Andrews Timber & Building Supplies operations director.
"With customers now able to buy materials from us and then hire the plant and equipment from HSS under the same roof, it makes their journey so much smoother with a fully-rounded service from start to finish.
"Given the outdoor space available at our Livingston branch, and its expanded landscaping department, it made perfect sense to launch this arrangement there.
"It is a further step towards our ultimate goal of being a true 'one-stop shop'."
