Roger Bullivant Limited (RBL) has announced its continued partnership with Story Homes for the Riverbrook Gardens development in Alnwick, Northumberland. This significant residential project, which will feature 3, 4, and 5-bedroom homes, has selected RBL as the foundation contractor for multiple phases.
The latest phase of the project will see RBL install over 850 driven precast concrete piles and 3,600 linear metres of its innovative precast ground beam system, RBeam. This system, manufactured off-site at RBL's headquarters in South Derbyshire, offers a highly efficient and sustainable foundation solution for large-scale developments.
By utilising off-site manufacturing, RBL can produce components in a controlled environment, ensuring consistent quality and minimising on-site labour and material waste. The RBeam system aligns with Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) principles, specifically MMC Category 3, which involves premanufactured, modular components that optimise project efficiency and quality.
Phil Howard, North East Foundation Systems Manager at Roger Bullivant Limited, said: "The Riverbrook Gardens project is a fantastic example of how our RBeam system brings efficiency and quality to large-scale residential developments. By manufacturing our piles and beams offsite, we're able to deliver a reliable, cost-effective foundation solution that meets the high standards of both Story Homes and the Northumberland community."
The 200mm square Driven Precast Concrete Piles were carefully selected for their cost- efficiency and effectiveness in dealing with Alnwick's ground conditions, which include clays, sands, and gravels, therefore providing stable support for the development's homes and contributing to the longevity of Riverbrook Gardens' infrastructure.
To date, RBL will have installed a total of1,800 No. piles and 7,400 meters of ground beam, showcasing its logistical expertise and scalable resources in handling high volumes of work within tight deadlines. The success of this phase reinforces RBL's reputation as a trusted foundation partner for Story Homes in the North East region, where they have collaborated on other projects as well.
