East Dunbartonshire Council has launched a series of public consultations on key planning issues, including the historic environment, housing, and developer contributions for schools.
The council is seeking input from the public, community councils, key agencies, and other stakeholders on the following:
Draft Historic Environment Planning Guidance
This consultation focuses on revised advice for development proposals that may impact the historic environment, aligning with the current Local Development Plan (LDP2). It's important to note that no changes to local designations are proposed.
Developer Contributions – School Capacities Planning Guidance (Update)
The council is proposing amendments to expected developer contributions related to education requirements. This update reflects current data on school rolls and capacities, focusing on developments that may exceed 90% capacity in catchment schools.
Indicative Local Housing Land Requirement (I-LHLR)
A consultation is underway on a potential local housing supply target as part of the preparations for the new Local Development Plan (LDP3). The I-LHLR covers the entire East Dunbartonshire area and does not specify potential sites.
To provide feedback or learn more about these consultations, members of the public are invited to attend a drop-in session at Milngavie Library and Community Education Centre on Thursday, 28th November 2024, between 2:30 PM and 7:30 PM.
The deadline for submitting feedback on all consultations is 13th December 2024.
Councillor Ferretti added: "All of the feedback received will help to inform East Dunbartonshire's Local Development Plans."
If you have any questions, please email development.plan@eastdunbarton.gov.uk by 13 December 2024.
Alternatively, you can write to Land Planning Policy, East Dunbartonshire Council, Southbank House, Strathkelvin Place, Kirkintilloch, G66 1XQ or call 0300 123 4510.
