Scottish Power has announced its largest ever early career intake, hiring 325 positions for next year.
Over 200 trainee roles and 100 graduate placements are up for grabs across Scottish Power's businesses and offices to support the energy supplier's renewables' offshore ambitions in Scotland, Merseyside, North Wales and East Anglia, where SP Energy Networks own and operate over 65,000km of underground cable and 40,000km of overhead lines.
"We are excited to kick off our recruitment period for the 2025 graduate intake, which will be our largest to date," said Jennifer Davies, SP Energy Networks Strategic Workforce Renewals Manager.
"We are looking to attract over 100 new graduate entrants into our growing business. These are truly exciting times ahead as we continue to expand and innovate with fresh talent joining our team."
Scottish Power’s two-year graduate programme gives its graduates the opportunity to play their part in the electrification of the UK, providing them with the skills, training and confidence to drive the renewable energy industry forward towards the UK's Net Zero targets.
Jonathan Naftalin, SP Energy Networks Graduate Trainee Engineer, said: "The graduate programme has given me opportunities to get involved in substantive, high impact projects that affect the future of the UK’s energy infrastructure.
"The structure of the graduate programme has given me exposure to different parts of the business, which has been vital for forging new relationships and developing a broad understanding of how we operate our distribution and transmission businesses."
The news comes just weeks after Scottish Power announced it would double its investment in the UK, from £12bn to £24bn by 2028, with over two-thirds of this investment in its electricity networks.
