The UK Government has announced that GB Energy, a new state-owned energy firm, is to be based in Aberdeen.

Prime Minister Keri Starmer made the announcement at a Labour conference in Liverpool.

This will help secure future investments in the sector and will help confirm Aberdeen as the Net Zero Capital of Europe.
