Barratt Developments North Scotland welcomed MP for Dundee Central, Chris Law, to its Keiller's Rise site last month to showcase the transformation of the former Keiller Marmalade production plant.
The factory site, which was left derelict in the mid-1990s, has seen Barratt Homes transform the brownfield land into 223 units of high-quality housing to help meet the demand for high quality new homes in the area.
Taking place on Wednesday 28th August, the housebuilder, which includes Barratt Homesand David Wilson Homes, invited Mr Law to take a tour of the site and see first-hand how the development's new build homes will benefit the Dundee community, with 45 couples and families having already moved in since the site was launched in December 2022.
During the visit, Mr Law met with Chris Ross, Development Director, Kevin Urquhart, Construction Director, Dave Oliver, Contracts Manager, and Scott Reekie, Site Manager, all of whom have been integral to the planning and delivery of homes on the development.
Chris Ross, Development Director at Barratt Developments North Scotland, said: "It was a pleasure to welcome Mr Law to Keiller's Rise, in what was an enjoyable and highly useful visit. This was an excellent opportunity to showcase how we've transformed the brownfield land into a sustainable and welcoming community of high-quality energy-efficient homes, and to discuss the successes and challenges that have come with breathing life back into the site.
"We look forward to continued collaboration and dialogue with Mr Law and other stakeholders to ensure the success of our developments in the Dundee area and beyond."
Chris Law, MP for Dundee Central, said: "It was fantastic to see the transformation of the historic Keiller's marmalade factory site into a vibrant community of much-needed, high quality-homes. It's encouraging to witness the progress made by Barratt Developments in creating a sustainable and welcoming environment that will benefit both current and future residents of Dundee."
Located in the bustling cultural city of Dundee, within the established Mains Loan community, Keiller's Rise is an exciting development of quality energy-efficient properties.
Buyers can choose from three or four-bed detached, semi-detached and terraced homes or modern two-bed apartments, all within close proximity to local parks, schools and with good public transport links including bus routes on Clepington Road.
Views to the Angus hills north of Dundee can be enjoyed from the houses, while the apartment blocks have views across the city towards the River Tay and Fife to the south.
Barratt Homes also recently unveiled a brand-new show apartment featuring a unique interior, showcasing the charm of its high-quality apartments available at the site.
